Sri Chinmoy offered the closing silent prayer during the Interfaith Celebration of Commitment to the Work of the United Nations, held at St. Bartholomew’s Church on 16 September 1998. The Interfaith Center of New York in association with the Temple of Understanding coordinated the event, with guests of honour UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan and President of the General Assembly Didier Opertti Badan.
