On 14 February 2013, a special event was held in the General Assembly Hall to mark World Interfaith Harmony Week (1-7 February), as proclaimed by the General Assembly in resolution 65/5. Entitled “United for a Culture of Peace through Interfaith Harmony”, the event was hosted by the President of the General Assembly; the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO); and the Committee of Religious NGOs to the United Nations. It included statements by General Assembly President Vuk Jeremić, and Deputy Secretary-General Jan Eliasson, a World Peace Flag Ceremony, and song performances by various groups. The Peace Meditation Choir was invited to open the programme with songs by Sri Chinmoy dedicated to the UN and peace. Full UN TV webcast, opening with the Singers.
