The 10th annual Sri Chinmoy Poetry Festival celebrated the United Nations and peace, and was attended by UN delegates and staff, academics and poetry lovers from around the world. The Poetry Festival took place in conjunction with a Convention attended by over 1500 of international members of the Sri Chinmoy Centre, held in New York from 15 to 31 August 2019. Participants in the Poetry Festival included H.E. Ambassador Toshiya Hoshino, Deputy Permanent Representative of Japan to the UN; Daw Aye Aye Thant, daughter of the third UN Secretary-General U Thant; and Professor Alan Spence, Poet Laureate of the City of Edinburgh.
